    Sébastian Soto loaned to Telstar

    August 27, 2020

Recently signed American striker Sebastian Soto has moved to The Netherlands on a season-long loan with SC Telstar.

The striker who signed from Hannover 96 in Germany’s 2 Bundesliga after his contract expiration will be at the Dutch club for the 2020/2021 Eredivisie season.

The Canaries teenage forward caught the eye at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland, where he scored four times for the Americans.

Soto’s loan move was confirmed on Wednesday evening on Norwich City’s official website alongside fellow loanee Dan Adshead.

Dan Adshead, an English midfielder as well as a regular with the Canaries U23 team last season, will also taste Dutch football with Telstar in the 2020-2021 season.

Meanwhile, the Canaries made it three wins in three pre-season matches after beating Dynamo Dresden by two goals to nil on Wednesday afternoon.

In the first-half of the game,  Finland striker Teemu Pukki scored his first goal for the club since January,  before John Hugill made it 2-0 in the second half.

Before Wednesday’s game, Norwich had beaten another German team Verl 3-0 on Monday and also thrashed MK Don’s 6-0 last week.

Manager Daniel Farke described the team’s performance as a good one and expressed delight with the result

“I’m much more delighted than with the Verl game. It was difficult today because the pitch was awful, and we were against a big name in Germany who are one of the favourites for promotion in their league. I think we dominated the game from the first second. It was a really good team performance in the first half, and we totally controlled the game.” Daniel Farke told Norwich City’s official website after the game on Wednesday.

Interestingly, Daniel Farke’s side is yet to concede a goal in the pre-season despite playing 3 matches already.

Norwich City’s first competitive game of the 2020/2021 season will come in the EFL Cup against Luton town on the 5th of September while their first championship game, after

being relegated from the Premier League is away to Huddersfield seven days later.
